Grace Gu Memorial
Gu, Yuexian (Grace was her chosen English name) died on October 9th, 2009, in Beijing, China.
Mother of Joy, she was Waipo (grandmother) to four grandchildren, including Joy and Todd's daughter Melissa and son Nathan. Grace lived primarily with Joy and Todd in the United States from 1990-2002, and traveled with the family extensively to Nepal, Singapore, and to visit China, as well as in the United States to Minnesota, California, Florida, and Hawaii.
A woman who majored in philosophy, taught English, Grace had a lifelong interest in young people -- who reciprocated her engagement with great affection. Grace always enjoyed meeting people, engaging their life stories, discussing their passions, and replied with wit and a sparkle in her eyes.
Her kindness, intelligence, and wit will always be remembered by those who met her. Her family in American join her husband Chen, Chimin and brother Chen Jie in deeply mourning her passing.
